Depending on what you want from your holiday, you can enjoy a romantic meal in a traditional mountain restaurant, or a lively night out drinking and clubbing.
This page is slowly being developed and we would love to hear of anyone else's favourite restaurants and bars.
Restaurants
Some of the restaurants we like are:
Le Petit Chalet
Located just across the main road from the studio. A lovely traditional chalet restaurant, beautiful to sit and watch the snow falling through the window! Quite a small restaurant so it would be advisable to book in busy season. Often have a small band playing whilst you eat. Offer a great selection of dishes with a excellent fondu.
La Cabassa
Situated just down from the studio, on the row of shops along the main road, La Cabassa is a popular, friendly, reasonably priced restaurant offering a great selection of pizzas as well as other traditional dishes.
Cafe Soleil
For a spot of lunch whilst enjoying your day out skiing, the Cafe Soleil is a great meeting place for skiiers and non-skiiers alike. Non skiiers can take the lift up from Chantemerle and get off at the first level. Cafe Soleil offers a great selection of drinks and snacks, panini, pizzas and more.
Le Passe Simple
Situated at the Hotel Mont Thabor, in Villeneuve on the main road just before the roundabout, Le Passe Simple is a great place to go if you are looking for a more elegant dining experience. It has a great reputation with locals. There is also a 'sister' restaurant in the old town of Briancon.
Le Valentin
A lovely cosy, romantic restaurant in the heart of Briancon old town. Specialising in tartiflette, foundu, raclette and lots of other delicious dishes. With lovely open fireplaces and beautiful ceilings, its a bit like being in a cave! For more info click here.
Bars
La Grotte
For a lively Apres Ski, traditional English grub and plenty of drinks flowing, La Grotte is the place to be! Situated below the Aravet lifts in Villeneuve, you can ski right down to La Grotte. Apres Ski time is happy hour or two, with nibbles on the bar and live acoustic music most days - if you sing or play you can join in the fun. La Grotte also has a no smoking restaurant, serving English breakfast and large portions of cafe style food, including fish and chips! You will also find wi-fi, sky tv, pool, darts and table football. Evening time is when the bar really comes to life with a live band most nights, don't miss the Harper Brothers, you won't have seen anything like them before! For more info on La Grotte click here.
Nightclubs
La Baita If you still have some energy left at the end of an active day on the slopes, you can boogie on down at La Baita. Situated in the basement of the Hotel Mont Thabor in Villeneuve. You can mingle with all the seasonal workers here as this is where most of them tend to hang out after a hard days work!
